The Wool House, our story
Het Wolhuisje was born from our shop, Colorie the Hague, on Mauritsplein in The Hague. For many years, we have worked with clothing made from beautiful, natural materials. In winter, the shop was full of wool, but as soon as spring began, much of it made way for linen, cotton, and other summery materials.
Still, we noticed that our love of wool did not disappear with the seasons. Customers kept asking for good wool sweaters and cardigans, and we continued searching for special knitwear from places such as Ireland and Scotland. Clothing where you can feel the quality of the material and where real care goes into the colors, knit, and finish.
And so Het Wolhuisje came about: a place where our love of wool can take center stage all year round.
We personally select our collection rather than simply choosing everything a brand offers. We look at the wool, the comfort, the colors, and above all, clothing you can enjoy for a long time. We have a particular fondness for Irish and Scottish knitwear and the rich knitting traditions reflected in it.
That is why our collection includes brands such as Harley of Scotland, Ireland's Eye Knitwear, Eribé and Aran Crafts. Each brand has its own story and style, but what connects them for us is a love of wool and well-made knitwear.
Although Het Wolhuisje is a webshop, we are fortunately here for you in person too. You can also view and try on some of our collection at Colorie the Hague, at Mauritsplein 20 in The Hague. We would be happy to help you find a sweater, cardigan, or other wool garment that is just right for you.

We choose our brands with care. Not because they all do the same thing, but precisely because each brand brings something unique to Het Wolhuisje. From traditional Irish cable knits to colorful Scottish knitwear: many of our garments are rooted in a long tradition of working with wool.
We consider the materials, quality, comfort, and how each garment is made. We prefer natural materials and timeless designs that don’t lose their appeal after just one season.

Do you have a physical store?
Yes and no. We don’t have a separate Het Wolhuisje store, but you can try on and browse the clothes at our second store in The Hague: Colorie The Hague. During the fall and winter months, the full Het Wolhuisje collection is also available there.

Is this a dropshipping website?
No, we are not a dropshipping website. We have our own warehouse, where all products are delivered directly by the brands themselves. This means we closely monitor the quality and origin of our products.
We work exclusively with high-quality brands from Europe that share our standards and values regarding sustainability, ethics, and craftsmanship. By managing our own inventory, we can guarantee fast shipping and ensure that every item meets our high quality standards.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are shipped the same day via PostNL. Within the Netherlands, your order is usually delivered within 2-3 business days.
If an item is unexpectedly out of stock, you will receive a notification. As we restock regularly, it may take a little longer in some cases before your order is shipped. Of course, we will always keep you informed.
